What I liked most about your website is how you discuss about the potential cost on parts and maintenance. This is a big deal for me since buying used cars usually means replacing some parts. Anyway do you have any plans on reviewing the Chevrolet Cruze. I am interested in knowing your review on this car. I will recommend your website to my friends who are looking for used cars.
Money and OpportunityJameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11218694816132459479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4152373667313275911.post-71851452440357476932014-04-30T23:37:12.931+08:002014-04-30T23:37:12.931+08:00I just remembered i meant "interference"...I just remembered i meant "interference" not intrusion and another thing I can think of might favor Efi is that the "unleaded" fuels are more suited to Efi - in this case I like Efi more due to health hazards of leaded fuels. Your linked article, to me at least, seems to favor carburetor.

Easy to tweak and cheap to maintain while Efi is expensive to maintain. Fuel economy won't be much difference. The only advantage of Efi to me seems more reliable starting during cold days, still you can "tweak" carbs and if those Efi sensors, electronics go out they could be expensive.

Actually, I only read about this and the 4 vehicles I've had were a VW beetle , a Toyota Corolla XE and 2 desiels. I just would like some assrance. I don't want to jump the gun and regret it, you know. Those cars can look pretty and although I want them I need to make the best choice for less expenses on a car, since I have a family and I don't earn a lot. I don't mind the tweaking/adjusting.

Somehow I don't think carburetors are obsolete it's just that Efi fits more to car manufacturers needs. Also, those Efi, as I understand have high pressure so you need more expertise and special tools to fix those in case of trouble. I have to admit I'm not familiar with Efi, but as I understand with carburetor you can still "makeshift" or adjust but with Efi you will need to buy a replacement part - am I right?

I just remembered I want to ask more about timing chain (Nissan) vs timing belt (Mitsubishi, Toyota) and also about "intrusion" engines, wether Sentra, Lancer or Corolla had them in 1991-1999. Afaik the our Corolla '96 had a 2E engine which is belt driven and non-intrusive. We sold it 2 years ago for 70K only (I regret IT!)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05776747977686345463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4152373667313275911.post-46819344934498485722014-04-17T22:35:25.679+08:002014-04-17T22:35:25.679+08:00Regarding EFi models, the parts are cheap if you k...Regarding EFi models, the parts are cheap if you know where to look and haggle. Fuel consumption between a carb and EFi variant are the same. But if you were to ask me, I'll go for a EFi model since fuel consumption and maintenance is easy, nevermind the price difference to a carb engine especially that this technology is very very obsolete.

To enlighten you more, here is an article: http://myk384.blogspot.com/2013/05/car-features-electronic-fuel-injection.html

Thank you for commentingMyk Belmontehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02080402497343102262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4152373667313275911.post-82825834796658727012014-04-17T22:20:23.499+08:002014-04-17T22:20:23.499+08:00Hello Sir,

What can be a your reason why EFI cars are "cheaper" to maintain when carbureted cars are more "adjustable" or easier to fix at least "makeshift" while with EFI you usually are forced to buy a new part? have EFI specific car parts become as cheap as carbureted specific parts?

Thanks for this blog!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05776747977686345463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4152373667313275911.post-79345206826201893492013-09-15T03:07:42.951+08:002013-09-15T03:07:42.951+08:00More power MykMore power MykDominichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02894963624635013279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4152373667313275911.post-69364336209794065812013-08-31T22:43:42.084+08:002013-08-31T22:43:42.084+08:00I find this blog helpful, since we are buying 2nd ...I find this blog helpful, since we are buying 2nd hand cars to restore. Waiting for more car profiles. I don't know what's the advantage of 2nd hand cars over brand new ones but I am addicted to buying them. I guess it's the excitement/feeling of having the task of restoring it to its former glory. I don't know but that's how I feel.

- AndrewLouishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17985811063753300499noreply@blogger.com
