Updated for 2009, the Camry gets some exterior changes while some items reserved in the higher end models are trickled down to the lower models. Model line-up and mechanical specifications remain unchanged.
What the Philippine market (and most of South East Asia and China) gets the Camry based Aurion, which is an Australian market model, but with different styling and interior. For the first time, 2.4 models ditch the 4 speed automatic in favor of a 5 speed model and the V6 gains an extra gear and additional 500cc of power.
The swan song for the Galant nameplate, this one gains a passenger side airbag (a notable omission of the previous model), GPS navigation system, and a sun roof, as well as an upgrade to 17 inch wheels. Not much efforts were done to save the name elsewhere that caused its discontinuation.
This would be the last generation of the Galant to be offered worldwide, and Philippine market units are sourced from Taiwan. Engine has been uprated to a 2.4 one while the automatic gets a manual mode.
For the second generation model, the CR-V was sold with three rows of seats that can accommodate 10 people (it was oddly classified as an AUV). Later on, a strict five seater and a 4x4 model came to the picture with the 10 reduced to eight. All variants have a 2.0 gasoline that can be had with either manual or automatic.
For 2005, the CR-V receives a revised exterior trim, a new engine and transmission for the 4WD, and some interior revisions. For 2006, the 4x2 5 seater had a price drop but with some equipment deletion.
Replacing the Cefiro is the Teana, which still runs on a 2.3 V6 engine (not the predecessor's 2.0 or 3.0 ones). Two variants are available at launch, a basic JK and a fully loaded JM. Do take note that this model was available in other countries since 2003.
Honda's first in-house designed SUV (the Passport is based on an Isuzu), the CR-V is technically the in-between when it comes to size and price. This vehicle is based on the Civic but with added height and a four wheel drive system.
While it may still have the same face (try to look harder), it does have a new engine under the hood. The 150hp in the 2.0 engine comes standard and an upgrade from the 126hp of the older model. Other than that, an optional Sound Cruiser package can be had and an orange color for a fee.
