In this rare moment, we will be comparing car sales figures from 2005 and 2015. Within the span of 10 years, numerous brands had left and a lot had entered the scene, while buyers preferences and patterns had changed. We saw the resurgence of popularity of several segments and the decline of some, we saw high vehicle prices than it were before and we saw the addition of newer technologies fitted among today's cars. From just 95,000 units in 2005, estimates will see car sales above the 300,000 mark.
Let the infographs do the talking, here is our throwback special.

Car Features - July 2015 Philippines Car Sales Figures
On the seventh month of the year, 24,854 vehicles were purchased in that month which brings the total to 179.437 cars sold, up 46% from last year. One available feature for January-July 2015 year to date is a comparison to its sales figures exactly a year ago, which you can see who gained a lot and who lost the game.
For July, five Toyotas claimed the top position that includes the Vios at # 1, Innova at # 2 (year to date, it trails the Fortuner), Hiace at # 3, Fortuner at # 4 (number two year-to-date), and Wigo at # 5. Other than that, two Mitsubishis sold extremely well during that month with the Montero Sport selling 1,101 units while the Mirage G4 having 1,016 models driving off dealer floors and if there is a vehicle which is now Isuzu's cash cow, it would be the MU-X as for this month alone, 1,008 of these examples found homes and it ranks 7th year to date.

Car Features - May 2015 Philippines Car Sales Figures
In May 2015, 23,248 cars found a buyer which brings the total to 131,846 for the year. They've just updated the figures just recently so let's go to the details.
No bunch of surprises here, the Vios sells 2,886 (that's just almost the same amount when the sales of the Fortuners and Montero Sports sold in the same month are combined) units, which incidentally was their record month. The other three vehicles following are also Toyotas, which are the Fortuner at #2 (also it's year to date), Hiace at #3, and Innova at #4 (the Innova stands tall against the former car in a yearly basis though). Lastly, the Montero Sport is the non-Toyota in the top 5 which despite threats from the leader seller, it does not rest on its laurels.
Other great performers in the top include the Toyota Wigo, Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Mirage G4, Honda City, and Isuzu MU-X
